ATC began in 1994 as a grant funded program and was initially only funded to treat clients with certain neurodegenerative conditions including ALS, MS and later Stroke and Parkinsons. Today, we are still grant funded to treat people with those conditions; but ATC is now separately incorporated from our host hospitals and as a result, can see people that do not fall under our grants. Those that do not fall under our grant programming are required to pay a fee for our services.
ATC is partially funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health for certain programs, and we pride ourselves on operating under the principles of universal healthcare and social entrepreneurship, so no one is turned away. For those with insurance, ODB, WSIB , NIHB, DVA, or other benefits, ATC will work with your providers and third party payment agencies to get you the most affordable and cost effective treatment options. For those with no benefits and an inability to pay, ATC’s social service workers can help.
